Personal Biography
My name is Arwa Alhamed. I’m a student living in Cleveland, Ohio. I am student at Cleveland State University. I am a fan of cooking, food, and photography. I’m also interested in education and technology. I am married, and I have two daughters. I have a bachelor’s degree in English. I came to the USA to pursue my education and get my master’s degree in TESOL. I will graduate and get my master’s degree in spring 2017. I came to the USA in 2013. I lived in Seattle, WA, for one year and a half. I studied at an ESL school in Seattle, where I achieved many achievement certificates.
During living in the USA, I learn different cultures, customs, and some traditions in teaching. I have a passion for teaching. I trained teaching for several months when I was a student at my city’s college. Living in the USA gives me an opportunity to learn how teachers use various strategies that meet all their students’ needs. My goal is teaching the curriculum by using new modern strategies and technology tools. I would encourage my students to use technology to help them keep up with the upcoming world.
Purpose of my e-Portfolio
This ePortfolio includes examples of my personal and professional progress as a graduate student. Through this ePortfolio, there are my collection works that show my learning journey over time. In this portfolio, one Standard from ISTE NETS for Teachers is covered, which is "Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity". Through using Microsoft Excel software, I was able to "engage students in exploring real world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources." I created this ePortfolio for students. This ePortfolio is to store my files for future and use them as resources to my students. By this ePortfolio, I will be able to integrate technology into my class and display some files for my students. I will be able to identify strengths and/or weaknesses to help with future professional development decisions.
